Hot Food in Cold Winter Project Launches in Kherson and Chernihiv Regions
The Ukrainian Food Banks Partnership (UFBF) is pleased to announce the launch of a new phase of support within the Hot Food in Cold Winter project. This time, the initiative will extend to the Kherson and Chernihiv regions, where residents are in particularly dire need of support during the cold season.
What does the project entail? The project aims to ensure the stable operation of hot kitchens in these regions. Through a partnership with the charitable organization "Iskra Dobro" and the support of international partners, UFBF will supply food to locations where hot meals are prepared daily for people facing difficult life circumstances.
This will help to:
Provide hot meals to people in need, especially important for internally displaced persons, the elderly, and large families.
Reach a greater number of people in need. The expansion of the initiative allows us to feed even more people in the most affected regions.
Create a sense of warmth and care. In winter, hot food becomes not just a way to satisfy hunger but a source of physical and emotional warmth.
Why is this important? Winter in Ukraine is always a trial, especially for those experiencing crisis conditions due to the war and other life hardships. Humanitarian support in the form of hot meals helps people not only survive but also feel that they are cared for.
Thanks to our partners!
The implementation of such a large-scale project has been made possible thanks to our reliable partners:
The European Food Banks Federation (FEBA), who support our work internationally.
The Austrian Federation of Food Banks (Die Tafel Österreich), who help provide resources for the implementation of this initiative.
We also express our gratitude to the "Iskra Dobro" organization for the partnership, which allows us to cover even more regions and make help accessible to those who need it.
How do we work? The hot kitchen will operate daily, and the food for cooking will be supplied directly by UFBF and our partners. We strive to ensure the stability and quality of every serving, so that everyone receives not just food but also a feeling of care and support.
Through our joint efforts, we are creating opportunities for good even in the toughest conditions. Together we are stronger!
