Сongress FEBA 2023
UFBP representatives attended the FEBA annual congress, which was held this year in Madrid.
This year, the FEBA annual congress was held in Madrid. Representatives of our organization at this event were the Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Federation of Food Banks, Dmytro Shkrabatovskyi, and a member of the Supervisory Board of our organization, Andriy Topchyi.
A unique event was the meeting of the congress participants with Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, who pays a lot of attention to charitable and public activities, to the issue of protecting people in need of humanitarian assistance. Dmytro Shkrabatovsky presented Her Majesty with drawings of Ukrainian children, which symbolize the friendship between the Ukrainian and Spanish peoples, and the Head of our organization thanked Her Majesty and the entire people of Spain for their sincere and constant support of Ukraine.
During the visit, our representatives discussed with the participants of the conference the problems and challenges of food banks in the conditions of the permanent crisis that has gripped Europe in recent years. In friendly discussions with representatives of European food banks, our representatives reported the current situation in Ukraine, exchanged experience regarding the further development of food banking in Ukraine.
FEBA President Jacques Vandenshryk made an inspiring speech in which he emphasized the need for further humanitarian support for Ukrainians. After all, such support and cooperation helps to develop humanitarian activities in Ukraine.
An important event was also a visit to the food bank of the city of Madrid, one of the largest food banks in Europe.
We thank FEBA for organizing an event of this caliber, for your tireless work in building a world without hunger, and for giving us the opportunity to be part of a professional community of Foodbanking leaders.
May our cooperation continue and bring positive results that will bring us closer to our goal every day: a peaceful and free Ukraine, where hunger will forever be a thing of the past!
